The Torah tell us that the Bris of a Jewish Male shall be done on the 8th day of the baby's life.
In case of illness, the circumcision may be postponed until the baby has been pronounced healthy by their care provider and ready for circumcision by the Mohel.
General Circumcision need not be done on the 8th day. It can be scheduled with the Mohel at your convenience.
Yes, a healthy baby will usually cry during the procedure. We do our best to minimize the pain and work quickly. The baby will usually calm down as soon as he is comfortably swaddled.
The actual procedure itself takes 3 minutes or less.
We do spend time before hand explaining the procedure. We will also inspect and measure carefully to make sure everything comes out perfectly. Finally, we double check after all is done that the wound is healing nicely before we leave. Average time in and out is 60 minutes.
Some folks prefer to stay away. Some prefer to see and be more involved.
I believe that happy parents = happier baby.

Yes, with the understanding that there is potential for more bleeding after the procedure.
In any case we will check to ensure that all bleeding has stopped before we are done.
